Arthur Center

When we arrived in the Philippines we were amazed at the ability to walk on the street, get involved, and interact with every person you meet. It is such a hospitable country and the local people are very excited to get to know you. We were also saddened by the fact thousands of kids are playing in the streets.

We both felt called to provide a facility that would bring education to the many kids who do not have the opportunity. With such poverty there are huge medical needs and physical needs to meet as well. By trying to help meet these needs, we would be provided an avenue to share the gospel with many people.

With this calling, we began to raise funds to provide a ministry center to the thousands of poor people in our area. Within 18 months God provided funds for the property and the building.

Construction started in October 2007 and finished on Feb 3rd, 2007 for the Arthur Center. The first few years of operation has been bumpy yet exciting. While some programs have been slow getting off the ground, others have thrived. Most importantly, we pray we are establishing relationships with the community in which they see the love of Christ.

Our dental clinic is open every Friday and already over 500 locals have had their teeth cleaned or have had infected and broken teeth removed to alleviate some pain. During each clinic, our pastor gets to make relationships and share more about Jesus.

Each week many different children come to our VBS programs. They get to hear stories about Jesus, play games, sing songs, and eat snacks with their friends. We pray that God will open their eyes to his love.

Pastor Better has now led church at the Arthur Center since April of 2007. We ask you to pray that real followers of Christ will be equipped at the Arthur Center.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support in this project. Please email us if you would like to know more.
